Finding The Right Coach

You may have heard a lot about coaching recently and lots of highly successful people and celebrities swear by it, crediting their success and happiness to their coaches support and positivity.

But I get it, just making the decision to find a coach can be scary. It involves risk and vulnerability and usually admitting to ourselves that something in our life isn't quite how we ideally want it to be.

That can feel uncomfortable and makes you question what you could have done differently, you may blame yourself or someone else and before you know it, your inner critic has beaten you to a pulp and you feel exhausted.

As if that isn't enough, you then need to make sure you:

  1. Find a qualified, experienced coach (preferably one with a master's degree in coaching & who's a Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring & Coaching Council...nudge nudge, wink wink...)

  2. Get on well with your coach and feel a connection to them

  3. Trust them

You need to believe that they've genuinely got your best interests at heart and will use their expert knowledge to ensure you receive the support and motivation you need to empower you to create positive change.

How Can Coaching Help?

Having a coach is a bit like having your own personal cheerleader; encouraging, supporting and committed to you and your development.

We listen without judgment and reflect what you say, opening your mind to your strengths, blind spots and thought traps; which enables you to examine situations from different viewpoints and build effective strategies to achieve your goals and make positive changes in your life.

In fact, coaching is scientifically proven to be highly effective in a whole range of areas, including:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety

  • Improving physical and mental wellbeing

  • Setting clear boundaries for better work-life balance

  • Building confidence and self-esteem

  • Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

  • Tackling automatic negative thoughts and improving mindset

  • Setting and achieving personal and professional goals and dreams

  • Identifying personal values and creating a more aligned life

  • Using and developing your personal character strengths

  • Building resilience and mental toughness

  • Improving communication and relationships

  • Preventing and recovering from Burnout

  • Achieving health and physical fitness related goals

  • Gaining clarity for confident decision making

  • Finding your passion, meaning and purpose in life

  • Developing your self-awareness, acceptance and creating a more authentic life

If the thought of making big changes to your life frightens you, how much more frightened are you at the thought of feeling the same way in a years’ time if you do nothing? Or in 5 years? Or 10 years?

The time for action is NOW.
